INTERNSHIP WORKSHOP

An important date for cohort members who are thinking about INTERNSHIPS is Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Waynesboro High School at 10 AM.

If you are interested in an internship but cannot make this workshop, there will be another one on May 23, 2009.

Internships can be very helpful to those who are career changers or who hope to move into another area of librarianship. Internships act as a bridge from the career you know to the new career that lies ahead.

Moving toward Orientation!

For those joining the WVVA Cohort for Spring 2009, orientation day is almost here! Orientations are mandatory so mark Saturday, December 6, 2008 on your calendar.

We will meet in the Waynesboro High School Library Media Center from 10 AM - 3 PM. Lunch will be provided. :)

This will be your opportunity to meet Dr. Samantha Hastings, the director of the USC School of Library and Information Science and some fellow cohort students.

VEMA Conference

If you are considering an MLIS degree from USC and will be attending the VEMA Conference at the Richmond Convention Center on November 6 - 7, please stop by the School of Library and Information Science booth in the Exhibit Hall. There will be handouts and a brochure with information to help you with your decision making.
